Hassan is the independence house executive director and a member of the board of trustees, which is a non-profit, non-governmental, impartial organization focusing on the promotion of democracy, protection of human rights, and enhancing a just, safe, and inclusive society. He is an ambitious and results-oriented team leader.

Prior to joining Independence House, he served as executive manager at Goobjoog Media Group. He has demonstrated 15 years of experience working with development programs and collaborating with media and non-governmental organizations throughout Somalia in various fields such as management, human rights protection, advocacy, capacity building, monitoring and evaluation, and more. Specifically, he has gained experience in community engagement, empowering marginalized groups at the federal and regional levels, and advocating for peace and reconciliation, rule of law, and public participation in governance and decision-making processes.

He is multi-skilled in a wide range of areas: finance, media, and law. Hassan has a master’s in public administration, a high diploma in law, and international human rights; media management; and a bachelor’s in management science.
