Dominic Tomno is a seasoned strategic communications and media expert with over a decade of experience in Somalia’s complex political and security landscape. Since 2013, Dominic has served as an editor, media trainer and communications expert covering critical issues such as political transitions, conflict dynamics, and state-building processes. Currently, he is the Publications Lead at Independence House, overseeing all publications and ensuring high standards of editorial quality and strategic messaging. Dominic has also developed expertise in countering terror financing through strategic communication models, crafting counter-narratives and alternative narratives to combat extremist ideologies. He studied Journalism and International Relations, and his deep understanding of the dynamics in Somalia and the Horn of Africa positions him as a great resource in supporting Independence House deliver on its mandate.
