The successful conduct of local council elections in the remaining three districts in Puntland marked yet another significant milestone in the advancement of representative governance both in Puntland and the country as a whole.
The completion of the elections in Garowe, Godobjiran and Dangoroyo in Nugaal Region demonstrates the maturity of state institutions in Puntland and provides a framework of reference for other Federal Member States.
The full composition of all district councils in Puntland now paves the way for greater public participation in state-building, democracy, and autonomy.
